Crustacean Boil N` Grill in Richmond

The food and staff are great! We ordered the seafood boil bag which had some of everything, delicious! Try the fried cheesecake while you are there.

The wait was sort of long but the place was packed, so that was to be expected. However, the young gentleman who waited on us was friendly, courteous and very attentive. The boil was delicious as well 😋

Disappointing visit today. This place has been going downhill in the last year or so. We've been there several times hoping it was just a slump. Today has was the worst. The place was empty...used to be a 1/2 hour or more wait, Most of the wait staff is new or at least act new, the food was bland although seasoning was in the bag, it was never mixed during the cooking. The particular waiter we had took 4 times to get our checks right. I'm afraid today has marked the end of our visits. Too many other places with better food and service. I'll continue to watch the reviews hoping for a change.

The food was good, the portion size was fair. The cocktails were lackluster. My main issue with the place is the small seating area. You're literally back to back with the other tables. Not a bad place overall.The wait staff was fast and we got a table for 2 almost immediately.

I am disgusted with management. My waiter served food customer service but forgot to give us our bucket for the shells. I sent my food back twice for having hair in my food. Management explained it came from the seafood. I explained either way the kitchen staff isn’t cleaning the food b4 they cook it. Management offered to bring out fries for free. Fries were over cooked and management did not grant discount. Management explained the “free” fries was the compensation. I go there all the time and this is the first time I’ve experienced this! I will not b back!

If your looking for a seafood boil type of place, I highly recommend. Staff is nice and pricking is reasonable. The food is also seasoned very well and has a lot of different opinions.

Our server was very nice and attentive however I sat at my table near the kitchen and saw my food sitting in the window for approx 15 mins. My boyfriend got his food fresh and hot and she did not bring mine for 10 mins. It was sitting in the window. By the time my food was brought to me my boyfriends food was semi warm and mine was as well. The restaurant was a hot mess and not clean at all. We walked in and it seemed like nobody knew what they were doing. The food will be the only reason we go back but I will most likely order carry out as we do not want to sit in the restaurant ever again.

Born and raised in the DMV area which is known for its great crabs. I’ve had lots of seafood in my life, but this is the absolute best! I drove about an hour to see a friend in Richmond and she took us here and I can’t wait to come back! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and all the seasonings are awesome!

Everything was pretty good.... there was no wait and we tended to quite quickly. Our server name was Toi and she was awesome. We'll be going back at least once a month

Awesome customer service!!! Food is great!! Very flavorful and tasty... always smoking hot!!! Staff was very friendly. And the Manager Shi was absolutely incredible!! He went out of his way to give second mile service..: I will definitely be coming back and inviting everyone I know!!!! Way to go!!

I loved this place! The staff is very attentive and really helps explain the menu. I got the magic dust seasoning on my seafood and it was really good. They did say it has the kick of Texas Pete but I would argue it's more mild than that. I did wish they put more potatoes in the bag but that's okay. Also, the hush puppies are worth the extra money! Nevertheless this place is really tasty and it's a rare find in this area!

Exactly what I expected. My dad and I got the big bucket with all the stuff in it. They even give you a bib! Awesome

This place is excellent.. every time I go here food is exceptional.. wish there was one a little closer to my house! However making the drive as well worth it..

I am a seafood lover and they have it all. I got a bag with shrimp, lobster, king crab, Dungeness crab, snow crab, and scallops. I spent about $80 on myself but... WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!

This place is the all time favorite of me and the Mrs. We originally were worried this one might not stand up to the West End store(where we usually frequent) but this one is just as good. Food is incredible. Service is always prompt and courteous. And the prices aren't bad for out of season seafood!

Food was good..waitress was nice but the place seemed overwhelmed with the amount of orders and people coming in to order and take out and sit down and eat

First time patron:This is a small spot with bangin seafood. It's kinda tucked into a shopping center. I ordered a steamed bag with snow crab legs , shrimp and mussels in lemon pepper. 😋 YUMMY! The service was attentive and swift to deliver considering the restaurant was not full at the time. I will return and would not hesitate to recommend to a friend.

I only had the snow crab legs and shrimp ut it was so good. I'm the type of person that has to be in the mood for seafood but the food here is good to me, I ate there every weekend. If you like seafood with seasonings or even if you dont, you can dial the seasonings down, but it's so good. The waitress/waiters I had there were nice to me. Didnt have a bad experience at all.

My family and I visited for the first time. I thought that since the virus has restaurants with a ten people occupancy, everything would be okay. We waited over 20 minutes for our food and the waiter stated that the Togo orders were first. At that point we were ready to go but it was the first time that we had been out of the house. The food finally came and it was only seasoned on top and there was no seasoning on the inside. To top it off the waiter kept making sure that he reminded us to tip although the gratuity was already added to my receipt 18%. We won’t be dining at this restaurant again and will continue to eat at The Tasty Crab.

PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE! THEY DO NOT WEAR GLOVES OR MASKS WHEN HANDLING CUSTOMERS’ FOOD. My boyfriend and I ordered dinner form here last Friday, May 15, 2020 around 9:00 pm. After we placed our order with the cashier we watched her walk over to the food window and season a customer’s food with no gloves or mask. We also noticed (as the food boxes were being placed in the food drop window) that the cook had no gloves or mask while preparing the food. On top of the many sanitization violations, the customer service was horrible. The staff stood around talking the entire time (roughly 20-25 mins) and the cashier/bartender (who was underage) failed to give me the right amount of change back. Needless to say, I will never return and hope others who want to stay COVID-19 free stay away from this disgusting place too.

It was freaking amazing!! The food is delish and the service was just as great! I will defiantly be back! I had one of the preset baskets and my husband had the wings and gumbo. I’m in love with this place!!

Amazing seafood and the seasoning tastes so good. We have gone to this restaurant many times and we got take out during this Covid period. Even takeout was fantastic. Be very specific when ordering though. Be clear if you do not want “heat”. I highly recommend

Food was subpar. I ordered “Coop’s Combo” & it had a decent amount of shrimp and crab legs; but, had three slivers of sausage & a partial potato. At first while in the store, I didn’t see the corn, sausage, OR potatoes & addressed such. The attendant at the bar searched long and hard to show me that one potato & baby sausage so i left with the food. I’m disappointed in what I paid for & probably won’t be back to this restaurant.

Excellent food, great service. Everything tasted great but the shrimp were the best to me. The spicy stuff was seriously hot and I am a fan of spicy foodsUpdate Sept 2018 my favorite new order is to just get 2 lbs of shrimp and ask to double up on the susage, potatoes and corn. Also I get he entry level heat which is just the right amount of spice.

I want to like this place, but every experience gets worse. Staff has an attitude and are unfriendly (take some training tips from Chick-fil-A). There is always something wrong with my order. And it always takes an extremely long time. There are too many other similar seafood boil places close by to keep giving this place my money.

Garlic lemon pepper shrimp boil was good great flavor cornbread was good but crustacean house of love was definitely not worth it you only get a single piece of crab legs here and there. The shrimp boil was the only thing worth the money. Ordered 2 beers 2 pieces of corn bread 2: shrimp boils 1 house of love and a 5 beer bucket which she was supposed to make 3 beers because we already had 2 and had to struggle to drink the additionals but anyway plus tip $110 it sounds like a lot of food but it wasn't it was just the 2 of us and definitely not worth it next time we will go to captain George's instead.

A bag of explosive flavors. They have some of the best seafood in the area.

I feel like whoever made my boil bag wanted me to have a foodborne illness or a tapeworm with that undercooked food I was served today. I realize I came in at about 30 mins before closing but if the food can’t be properly prepared in the time frame then informing me of that would be the considerate alternative.

Our dining experience was excellent. The food was delicious. The waitress Tia was very knowledgeable and assisted us with our selection. The restrooms were very clean. This was a unique dining experience. They also have military discount.

We had a large party of eight people and went on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated right away and the waitress was very nice. Our food was serviced quickly and the waitress checked on us several times. Good food and great service. Will come back.

Servers were not wearing mask and my server rubbed her hands across her nose and did not wash her hands. Workers uniforms looked a mess. We left before ordering.

We ordered 2lb clams and 2lb shrimps, but only get 1lb clam and 1lb shrimp. They did not want to do anything to correct their mistake. The manager insisted they did nothing wrong even thought we ate some, which makes me feel really sick.

Love the mixture of spices in the seafood bags. They have the best, juiciest corn!! Wish they put at least 2pcs of corn and potatoes in the bags especially if you dont eat pork sausage.

Good seafood .just pricey.
